Ukrainian Peasants in the first piece in Needle Practice, a new body of work that investigates the urge to make, potential difficulties in completing a project, and the benefits of collaboration in resolving work.

Consisting of various partially begun needlework pieces---petit point, needlepoint, and cross stitch---the works in Needle Practice have been passed on by anonymous makers.

I find the unfinished projects in thrift stores, take them to my studio, and enter into collaboration with the original maker to resolve the piece. The completed works will be my abstractions of the original designs.
